Piper Arrow IV For Sale
The Piper Arrow IV (PA-28RT-201T) is a four seat, single engine, low wing aircraft with retractable tricycle landing gear and a T-tail configuration. Produced by Piper Aircraft from 1979 to 1990, it is the turbocharged, T-tail variant of the popular Piper Arrow family.
Powered by a Continental TSIO-360-F producing 200 horsepower, the Arrow IV cruises at approximately 155 knots at altitude. The turbocharger maintains sea level power up to higher altitudes, making the Arrow IV more capable on cross country flights above 8,000 feet compared to the naturally aspirated Arrow III. Fuel capacity is 72 US gallons, giving a range of approximately 750 nautical miles.
Design Features
The Arrow IV's T-tail was introduced to move the horizontal stabiliser out of the propeller wash and wing downwash, intended to improve pitch stability in cruise. The aircraft features an automatic gear extension system that lowers the gear below a set airspeed and manifold pressure combination, a feature unique to the Piper Arrow series designed to reduce gear up landing incidents.
