The Columbia 400 (now designated the Cessna TTx after Cessna's acquisition of Columbia Aircraft) is a four seat, single engine, composite construction aircraft. It holds the distinction of being the fastest certified fixed gear, single engine piston aircraft, with true airspeeds exceeding 235 knots at altitude.
Powered by a turbocharged Continental TSIO-550-C producing 310 horsepower, the Columbia 400 combines high performance with a spacious cabin and a useful load of approximately 1,050 pounds. The aircraft features an all composite airframe with a built in roll cage structure known as the Engineered Safety Protection System.
